The Lullaby League vs. The Lollipop Guild
Things I Hate About This Week:
- Catching a cold from all of my beloved Clubber boys.
- Being unable to laugh without my lungs deciding they need to be coughed up for show and tell.
- One-ply toilet paper. Seriously, is this the best you can do with my $20k+ a year, oh school of mine?
- My milk expiring, leaving me unable to properly consume my Fruit Loops (which I refuse to spell as Froot Loops).
Things I Love About This Week:
- Obtaining the soundtrack to The Wizard of Oz and listening to munchkins day after day.
- Watching both Fight Club and Casino Royale for the first time.
- Being the only person to write on my brother's Facebook wall for the second week in a row.
- Talking to my mother for an hour and a half on her birthday.
- Realizing that Spring Break is now less than two weeks away.
- Wayne Brady and Ryan Stiles.
- Did I mention munchkins yet?
Goddesses of the internet...
I'm not even going to pretend that I'm not secretly elated to have the same sheets on my bed as Heather B. Armstrong has on hers, nor am I going to deny that I squealed a little bit to find that Maggie Mason and I both watched Fight Club in the past few days. I could fill a whole page of links to entries by Sarah Brown which seem to have been written directly from my head (with much more humor and eloquence), but I'll save those for another time.
Meanwhile, back to idolizing bloggers in secret.
I would paint flaming bunnies on the side.
As I was checking my email just now, I stumbled across a spam message with the subject line, "Guide to Cabinet Racing." Immediately, I pictured myself in a set of kitchen cabinets, speeding down an asphalt hill somewhere, moments away from an inevitable and splintery doom. I could imagine discussing the benefits of oak or cherry with fellow racers after a regional tournament. Perhaps sponsors could show their support with novelty handles and hinges and such. I imagine this sort of thing would be big in Norway.
It was only after all these amazing dreams that I realized that the subject line actually said "Refacing." I am officially the biggest disappointment in my own day.
